Benefits of Essential Oils

August 08, 2022

There has been a long tradition of using essential oils in conjunction with beauty products, so your favorite hair-care product probably already uses them.

Many essential oils have been claimed to be able to maintain and promote healthy scalps and hair. It is common for people worldwide to suffer from thin and thinning hair as a result of stress, hormonal changes, environmental factors, and genetics. So how can adding essential oils to your hair-care routine increase your hair growth?

Let take a deeper look!

Coconut Oil

For a very long time, coconut oil has been used to promote hair growth. It is primarily due to lauric acid, a triglyceride (a short-chain fatty acid) that is responsible for this. Due to its low molecular weight, lauric acid is easily absorbed by the hair shaft and serves as a natural conditioner, preventing split ends.

Jojoba Oil

In terms of hair growth, jojoba oil is mostly used for its ability to help moisturize the hair and scalp, thus fighting forms of hair loss related to dry skin. It may be possible to reduce dandruff, dry scalp, and itchy scalp by using jojoba oil. It is rich in a wide variety of vitamins and minerals that may contribute to the nourishment and strengthening of your hair, thus preventing breakage and promoting silky, smooth, shiny hair.

In comparison to other essential oils, jojoba oil closely resembles natural human oils (sebum), which may explain its ability to promote healthier looking hair. In terms of dry hair essential oils, jojoba oil should not be overlooked.

Peppermint Oil

Peppermint oil is a popular essential oil. It has a pleasant, refreshing smell and a cooling effect that’s made it a common ingredient in many natural shampoos, conditioners and other personal care products.

Lavendar Oil

Lavender essential oil has a soft, warming scent and is derived from the lavender plant. Its heavenly aroma is the main characteristic of lavender, aside from its beautiful purple hue. There are many benefits associated with lavender oil. It promotes hair growth, combats dandruff, soothes itchy scalps, and fights infections. Using lavender hair oil as a treatment for hair has been a popular practice for decades.

By using lavender oil regularly to promote hair growth, you will achieve thick, shiny, and healthy-looking hair that can withstand environmental factors such as the effects of the environment and heat. As it nourishes the hair from within, it stimulates growth, improves blood circulation, and feeds the deep hair follicles.

Ways to Apply Essential Oil for Hair Growth

Knowing which essential oils are beneficial for hair growth allows you to incorporate them into your hair care regimen. In some cases, essential oils are applied directly to the scalp. It is recommended that you first dilute it with a carrier oil such as jojoba or argan oil before applying it.

Side Note! There are many hair care products that contain essential oils in their formulations. You may find this more convenient since you will not be required to mix anything.
