Why You Should Use Jamaican Black Castor Oil for Hair Growth

Why You Should Use Jamaican Black Castor Oil for Hair Growth

October 21, 2021

Jamaican black castor oil has trended in recent years. In fact Fro Butter have created an entire product dedicated to Jamaican black castor oil (JBCO) to restore and regrow thinning and bald spots. But nothing is as potent as the original oil itself – brown, sticky, and magical. There’s a reason why women everywhere have sung praises to JBCO.

JBCO will solve a host of hair concerns, including: Dry brittle hair, hair breakages, dandruff, dry itchy scalp, eczema, thinning hair, alopecia, bald spots, and will rapidly increase hair growth including eyebrows and eyelashes. These properties alone sets it apart from other nourishing oils, like coconut or argan.

This special oil may be new to some of us, but in fact, it’s been used traditionally in Jamaica for many years. Unlike plain castor oil, JBCO involves a roasting process, which gives it its characteristic dark color and burnt smell.

How to Use JBCO For Hair?

  1. Apply small amounts of high-quality Jamaican Black Castor Oil to the roots and scalp of your hair daily.
  2. Massage the oil into your scalp using your fingertips.
  3. Leave on scalp overnight.
  4. Use  Jamaican Black Castor Oil as a Hot Oil Treatment once per week. Simply massage generous amounts of Jamaican Black Castor Oil into scalp and hair, then cover with plastic cap and go under the dryer for 15-30 minutes.
  5. To remove oil, thoroughly wash hair with a natural shampoo and conditioner, such as Lazy Natural 2 in 1 Shampoo and Conditioner.

How to Use JBCO For Eyebrows And Eyelash?

  1. Wash your face with a mild soap.
  2. Dip a mascara wand or a cotton swab into Jamaican Black Castor Oil, tapping off any excess oil. It is important to apply a thin layer, so use a clean tissue to dab away drips from the wand/cotton swab if necessary.
  3. Brush the oil evenly through your eyebrows from inner to outer tip. Then use the wand/swab to apply the oil to your eyelashes, just as you would mascara -- from root to tip.
  4. Leave the oil on overnight and rinse off with a mild soap in the morning before you apply your makeup/moisturizer.
